The National Aerospace Organization (NAO) was originally founded in 1995 by Colonel John D. Thomas. Since it's inception, NAO has assisted thousands of small businesses interested in doing business with the Department of Defense and with NASA. NAO has also assisted countless federal civil service job seekers wanting help preparing their application packages. In 2015 the National Aerospace Organization became a division of the Defense Studies Institute.

The National Aerospace Organization (NAO) is a division of the Defense Studies Institute. NAO is an independent, nongovernmental organization funded by contributions from private industry and U.S. citizens. NAO serves as an unbiased educational organization for the benefit of both government and private industry.
NAO is not affiliated with any specific federal agency or government contractor. Instead, NAO acts as a good-faith ombudsman seeking to improve the technology, capabilities, and efficiency of the Department of Defense and NASA while at the same time improving the quality of life for its patrons.
The goal of NAO is to achieve a win-win situation between the government and private industry / citizens. NAO does not deal with classified information or restricted data. All information provided by NAO comes from publicly available, unclassified sources.
